⇒ How to Install in Thunderbird

Directory Contact Tabs is a set of add-ons for Mozilla Thunderbird 3 which permits to display additional information about contacts from LDAP directory servers.

By default, read-only information is displayed in 5 tabs: "Contact", "Private", "Work", "Other" and "Photo".

This add-on permits to add custom tabs/panels in order to display information which is available in a contact's card in the directory.

The new panels are provided by one or several customized Directory Contact Tabs (Data) add-ons.

Directory Contact Tabs consists of 2 items:

Directory Contact Tabs (Engine) add-on which provides GUI and LDAP connections management;
One or several Directory Contact Tabs (Data) add-ons which provide the panels.

Directory Contact Tabs (Engine)

Directory Contact Tabs (Engine) add-on provides integration of available panels into Thunderbird GUI and manages LDAP connections to directory servers.

Directory Contact Tabs (Data)

Directory Contact Tabs (Data) add-ons contain XUL files which describe panels. They register their panels with the Directory Contact Tabs (Engine) add-on.

Several add-ons based on Directory Contact Tabs (Data) can be simultaneously installed to provide additional panels.

The directoryContactTabsData-sample add-on contains several sample panels.

The directoryContactTabsData-template add-on is a skeleton which doesn't contain any panel. In order to add your own panels, follow the instructions in the technical documentation.
